Residents needing to dispose of yard trimmings or large brush should note that the Austin Water’s Hornsby Bend Biosolids Management Plant will take advantage of the holidays, closing its doors on both Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. The Recycle and Reuse Drop-off Center echoes this break, shuttering on these dates, but remains open by appointment during the remaining days of those weeks, according to AustinTexas.
Where health is the concern, Austin Public Health services will be observing a break for the festive period too. The Rutherford Lane Campus, Office of Vital Records, WIC and Shots for Tots clinics, and Neighbor Centers will not be operational on Dec. 25 and 26, as well as Jan. 1, as stated in the city's closure notice. Off-site COVID-19 testing can be found at a variety of non-profit and private locations throughout Austin, including urgent care centers and pharmacies, as per AustinTexas.
