
A night out in northeast Minneapolis turned violent early Saturday when a bar altercation escalated to a drive-by shooting, leaving a man with serious injuries, as local police report. According to FOX 9, the incident occurred around 2:12 a.m. near the 500 block of East Hennepin Avenue where responding officers found a man in his 40s who had been shot and was undergoing CPR, officers took over until the victim was transported to Hennepin Healthcare.
The confrontation that started inside the bar spilled outside, and despite attempts by bystanders to break up the fight, it continued. One of the individuals went to his car and while driving away the victim approached the vehicle which led the driver to fire several shots and flee the scene, as CBS News Minnesota reported. Details remain sparse as the investigation is ongoing.
Currently, no suspects have been apprehended in connection to the harrowing event and the Minneapolis police department remains in search of leads. Authorities have yet to release the identity of the man who was injured. The Minneapolis police are asking anyone with information to step forward, in the hopes that justice may bring some solace amidst the disquietude sown by violence's untimely harvest on a cold Minneapolis morning.
