In a heated battle over immigration policy, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is not backing down after a federal judge ruled in favor of the Biden administration's removal of Texas' border barriers. The legal clash centers on Texas's efforts to use concertina wire to block undocumented immigrants from crossing into the state, a strategy the federal government claims obstructs national border control efforts, according to Texas Attorney General's Office.
Despite the setback, Paxton has vowed to carry the fight to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, championing the defense of what he calls Texas's right to secure its own border. "Biden's doctrine of open borders at any cost threatens the safety of our citizens, and we will continue to fight it every step of the way," stated by AG Paxton.
While the feds have gotten the green light to continue dismantling the wire barriers, the court did not mince words about its view of the administration's border enforcement tactics, acknowledging the government's failure to prevent unlawful entry into the country. The court found that "The evidence presented amply demonstrates the utter failure of the Defendants to deter, prevent, and halt unlawful entry into the United States," as reported by the Texas Attorney General's Office.
