At the 5th Annual Cookies and Cocoa Staff Appreciation Event, which cleverly doubled as a toy collection rendezvous, school district staff managed to donate more than 1,400 toys and gift cards. Hundreds gathered at Boerne Academy on Friday, their arms laden with gifts to contribute to the Blue Santa Toy Drive, as reported by FOX San Antonio.
Students from Boerne Middle School North assisted in loading the gifts onto moving trucks provided by the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, specifically brought in to accommodate the staggering amount of donations.
According to a report on the district’s website, the toys will now make their way to a special event hosted by Blue Santa, where families can come to choose gifts for their children. Parents are also given the necessary tools—paper, tape, and the like—to wrap these gifts in the comfort of their own homes, as per Boerne ISD website.
