On Sunday, panic ensued at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport as a bomb threat forced the evacuation of Terminal 1. According to CBS News Miami, Broward Sheriff's Office Airport District deputies swarmed the terminal at approximately 5:26 p.m. following the threat report. The swift precautionary measure to clear the upper level came amidst peak travel times, throwing a wrench in the day's departing flight schedule.
Consequently, the departures area of the airport was shuttered until further notice, as stated on X by FLLFlyer. Despite the inconvenience and potential missed flights, passengers like Jadyna Seelye remained composed. "I think some people may not make it to their flights which is going to be very frustrating, and I hope everybody just calms down and deals with the situation properly," Seelye told CBS News Miami in an interview reflective of the general sentiment among travelers.
Travel Advisory: Due to a developing security-related incident, law enforcement has evacuated the upper level of Terminal 1 and temporarily closed #FLL's Departures entrance in an abundance of caution until further notice. Updates will be posted as more info is available.

The terminal resumed operations just over an hour later as law enforcement wrapped up the preliminary investigation into the bomb threat. The airport's communication channels assured passengers that updates would be provided as the situation unraveled, keeping everyone notified through digital platforms.
A man connected to the threat was apprehended and taken in for questioning, details of which remained sparse at the time of reporting. Officials have not released any further information on his identity or the specifics of the threat. The airport, a gateway for many, on that Sunday became a site of trepidation and uncertainty as it stood momentarily idle, testament to the age where safety can never be presumed as a given.
