Boston's youth are lacing up their skates for a frosty face-off in the 2023 Mayor’s Cup Ice Hockey Tournament starting tomorrow. According to the City of Boston's official announcement, over a thousand kids will hit the ice across the city's rinks, aiming to snag the coveted title of “Boston’s Best."

The city-wide competition will see the puck drop in a grueling schedule of 136 games spread out over six rinks. A total of 1,231 players from seven youth hockey programs, including Allston-Brighton; S.C.O.R.E Boston; Charlestown; Dorchester; Hyde Park; Parkway, and South Boston will vie for the top spot in the 30th Annual Mayor’s Cup in 14 different divisions.

For those keen on catching the action live, the Boston Parks and Recreation Department has listed Bajko Rink, Devine Rink, Murphy Rink, O'Neil Rink, Reilly Rink, and Conte Forum at Boston College as the battlegrounds for the games, which will run until December 30.

None of this would be possible without key players off the ice. The tournament is backed by the Boston Bruins Foundation and P & G Gillette, in partnership with the Boston Parks and Recreation Department. Boston College, the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, and FMC Ice Sports are also chipping in with essential donated ice time. Props go to the youth hockey directors, board members, coaches, parents, and, of course, the athletes themselves for making this event possible.

Details for the Mayor’s Cup schedule can be found on the Boston government website, and updates on the tournament will be relayed through the @bostonparksdept social media channels, where fans can follow on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for the latest scoops.
