Boston cops slapped the cuffs on a 23-year-old South Boston man after he reportedly robbed a Roxbury convenience store at gunpoint. The suspect, identified as Sylvester Forde, was busted with a Polymer 80 pistol, complete with a round in the chamber and eight rounds in the magazine, according to the Boston Police Department.
Forde was nabbed Monday morning around 10:38 AM, near 64A Blue Hill Avenue, moments after the alleged robbery. The young man now faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and armed robbery.
The Boston Police Department stated that officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded promptly to the call, detailing how Forde was spotted with the handle of a firearm poking out from his jacket pocket. Cops took no chances, securing him and the weapon before any further incidents could unfold.
Forde is now expected to be arraigned at Roxbury District Court, where he'll face the charges that have been stacked against him. The Boston Police ensured there was a fast response to the armed robbery, potentially preventing further crimes and safeguarding the community.
