It happened around 5:08 AM with reports of shots fired on River Street in the heart of Hyde Park. Although officers uncovered no evidence, with no victims to be found. The chase, however, quickly turned as officers, were tipped off about a band of would-be auto thieves caught in the act.
The suspects — identified as Jay Moses and Diamond Carter, both 27 from Dorchester and Boston, respectively, alongside 24-year-olds Justin Creech from West Roxbury and Thomas Perkins from Hyde Park — were accused of trying to jack multiple vehicles.
Detectives arrived at Beaver and Cleveland Streets where they were met with descriptions of the suspects. The information was swiftly relayed, and the sharp eyes of officers at the shooting scene spotted the foursome who matched the broadcasted profiles perfectly, eventually stopping all four suspects, and confirming their catch.
