In a philanthropic gesture that brought together law enforcement and local businesses, the BPD hosted a holiday coat drive benefiting the St. Stephen's Youth Program in the South End. The drive successfully gathered 48 winter coats for the youngsters who frequent the program, keeping spirits and temperatures high as the year draws to a close.
According to a report by the Boston Police Department, the initiative saw officers from District D-4 dip into their own pockets, alongside contributions from PAL and Target, embodying the season's giving spirit. Retail giant Target and the Police Athletic League (PAL) didn't stand alone in this venture. Whole Foods and Ink Block stepped up as well, generously donating gift cards to the families benefiting from the drive, further easing the financial burden that can accompany the holiday season.

"The Boston Police Department and the officers from District D-4 would like to send their sincerest thanks to the members of PAL, Target, and Whole Foods for their always dependable generosity to the youth that we serve in the communities," the department stated.
