Actor Keanu Reeves' Hollywood Hills abode was the scene of a burglary on Wednesday night, according to authorities. Reports from the Los Angeles Police Department cited by KTLA 5 indicate that an anonymous tipster alerted law enforcement to a possible intruder at Reeves' residence around 7:00 p.m. Upon arriving at the scene, LAPD officers conducted a sweep of the premises but reportedly failed to locate any suspects.
The situation escalated when an alarm was triggered on the property at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Thursday. Law enforcement sources informed TMZ that security footage captured "multiple men with ski masks smashing a window" in an attempt to gain entry. The trespassers managed to abscond from Reeves' home with a firearm, but it remains unclear if additional items were stolen. Reeves was not present during the time of the incident.
The LAPD is meticulously combing through camera footage from Reeves' home to uncover further details about the burglary. According to statements obtained by TMZ, detectives are investigating whether the initial call warning police about a trespasser was part of a calculated attempt to reconnoiter the property.
This is not the first time Reeves has found himself a target for such invasions. The 'John Wick' star previously experienced two consecutive break-ins back in 2014. Moreover, earlier this year, he secured a temporary restraining order against an individual who purportedly exhibited stalker-like behavior, reportedly showing up at his residence.
