A Cambridge man has been sentenced to a hard five in the slammer for his sick stash of child smut, officials said Monday. Monster David H. Chang, aged 29, was thrown out of the book by U.S. District Court Judge Leo T. Sorokin, who also tacked on a five-year leash of supervised release once he's out from behind bars, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced.
Chang got nabbed after the feds linked him to a filthy cryptocurrency account splurging on child pornography via the dark web, an online cesspool where predators lurk. In January 2022, the feds raided his digs and whaddayaknow, they found a trove of the vile material—1,700 images and 360 videos—crammed in Chang's electronic gear, showing kids as young as two being abused, some of the horrors dragging on for as much as 50 agonizing minutes.

Krol, this disturbing reveal was part of Project Safe Childhood's crusade—a DOJ punch-up since '06—against the mushrooming plague of sickos preying on minors online. The operation is a concerted shoulder-to-shoulder effort to track, bag, and throw the book at these creeps and pull the victims from the mire.
Yet, despair lingers like a storm cloud, knowing that each vile image, each twisted video, is not just pixels on a screen but a child brutalized, their anguish eternally etched in the annals of the dark web. Chang's perverse purchases are now his undoing, but the pain of those he watched for pleasure remains a jagged scar upon humanity.
