The Cedar Hill Police Department has been tirelessly tracking the case of a missing 67-year-old Hispanic male, Matias "Matt" Guzman, since his disappearance in March 2023. Despite the use of social media and news stories to broaden the search, leads have been scarce and Guzman's whereabouts remain a mystery. Guzman is about 5’ 4” tall, weighing between 160 and 170 lbs, with short black hair and black and gray facial hair. Last seen outfitted in a brown jacket, orange shirt, and blue jeans, he also requires prescription glasses, which could be a critical detail in identifying him, according to the Cedar Hill Police Department.
Guzman left his group home on March 12th to quickly go to a local store. Guzman was last seen trying to ascertain directions to Garland, Texas, a place with familial ties, after seemingly speaking with at least one individual in the Circle On Food Mart parking lot at 207 S. Clark Rd. in Cedar Hill, Texas. This behavior isn't new for Guzman, who has a history of wandering off to his family’s residence in Garland.
The community and law enforcement are both anxious to locate Guzman, not only for his safety but also to bring peace of mind to his loved ones. In cases of missing people, especially those with habitual tendencies to wander, time is a factor that cannot be underestimated.
