Chicago authorities are on the hunt for two men and a woman after the tragic killing of a security guard in the Chatham neighborhood shopping center right before Christmas, with surveillance video of the suspects now circling in hopes of aiding their capture. The video, which was released by police and obtained by CBS Chicago, depicts the trio shoplifting items before 53-year-old Edward Fontaine Creamer, a security guard, was fatally shot on Dec. 20.

The grainy footage shows the suspects stuffing items into a Nike bag and walking out nonchalantly, moments before police say Creamer was shot thrice in an altercation with the shoplifters, according to NBC Chicago. The individuals were then seen meeting with a fourth person in the parking lot and fleeing the scene in a stolen grey Nissan Maxima, with Illinois license plate CW25426. The beloved security guard was later pronounced dead at the University of Chicago Medical Center, leaving behind a shattered community and a grieving family.

As a father of seven and a grandfather of five, Creamer was known for his mastery of martial arts and his generosity with time, regularly visiting his mother suffering from Alzheimer's after work, "Half of me is gone and my spirit is concentrating on the people who did this to my baby," his father, Charles Harris, in a heartrending statement obtained by NBC Chicago. Area 2 detectives are urging anyone with information to get in touch by calling 312-747-8271 as the video evidence becomes key to cracking the case.
