Voodoo Doughnut, hailing from Portland, is ready to sprinkle its pastry magic on Chicago's bustling Fulton Market. The grand opening is slated for 8 a.m. on December 16 at 945 W. Randolph St. An official statement by the gourmet chain promises an indulgent surprise for the early birds, declaring that the "first 50 customers in line will be treated to a delightful surprise," as reported by NBC Chicago.

Now, brace yourself to indulge in cravings as you explore their roster of more than 50 decadent doughnut varieties—with 25 vegan options to boot—all snugly packaged in Voodoo's signature pink boxes. From the notorious Bacon Maple Bar adorned with crispy bacon on maple frosting to the decadent Memphis Mafia, "fried dough with banana chunks and cinnamon, topped with glaze, chocolate chips, peanuts, and chocolate and peanut butter drizzle," according to NBC Chicago, these creations are set to challenge local titans like Stan's Donuts and Do-Rite Donuts.

Championing community spirit and local flavor, Voodoo Doughnut CEO Chris Schultz emphasized the brand's deliberate selection process for Chicago. "We've been looking in Chicago for a number of years, just looking for the right location," Schultz told NBC Chicago in a statement. "It's super important for us to be a part of the neighborhood."

Schultz assured Chicagoans that Voodoo is here to fully immerse and "build this store to feel like it's a Chicago store, and not like we just picked up and moved from Portland to Chicago," according to NBC Chicago. As the 22nd location in the U.S., this opening is a significant feather in the brand's cap, especially as it navigates labor negotiations back in Portland, as highlighted by Eater Chicago.
