
A Chicago man has been slapped with serious felony charges following an armed robbery incident earlier this week. Juan Veguilla, 36, from the 3200 block of N. Osceola Ave., was arrested after he allegedly robbed a 46-year-old man at gunpoint.c
According to the Chicago Police Department's charge release, Veguilla now faces one felony count of armed robbery, one felony count of aggravated battery using a deadly weapon, and one felony count of unlawful restraint. Veguilla's detention hearing is set to be held today at 2600 S. California.
The Chicago Police Department stated that Veguilla was identified as the offender who, on December 21st, took property at gunpoint from the victim in the 3200 block of N. Narragansett Ave. The arrest occurred in the same block from which Veguilla reportedly hails. Information about whether the victim sustained injuries or the nature of the stolen property was not immediately made available.
Veguilla was placed into custody without additional details to be earnestly offered at this time, as the investigation appears to still be underway. The circumstances leading to the identification and arrest of Veguilla have not been disclosed.
