A 32-year-old man, identified as Carlos Pascual Gomez of the 300 block of S. Plymouth Ct., Chicago, Illinois, has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing incident in Chicago's bustling 500 block of N. State St., according to the Chicago Police Department's official release.
The Chicago Police assert Gomez, who was arrested on December 11, 2023, around 4:15 p.m. mere hours after the crime, is responsible for seriously injuring a 34-year-old man with what was likely a knife. It's said the altercation leading to the stabbing took place earlier that same afternoon.
In addition to the attempted murder charge, Gomez faces one count of criminal damage to property for damages amounting to less than $500, as outlined in the charge sheet. He appeared for a detention hearing at the courthouse located at 2600 S. California on December 12, 2023. The details of that hearing remain under wraps, with the authorities yet to disclose further information.
