
A Chicago man was nabbed by the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force and is now facing murder charges in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred earlier this year.
57-year-old Alex Rodriguez, from the 3000 block of W. 40th Pl., Chicago, Illinois, has been charged with one felony count of first-degree murder and one felony count of murder in the commission of another forcible felony. He was apprehended on December 19, 2023, the Chicago Police Department reported.
Rodriguez is alleged to have shot a 54-year-old individual to death on August 16, 2023, at around 10:22 p.m., on the 2700 block of W. Wilcox St. in the city's 11th District. The arrest took place in the vicinity of the 2400 block of W. 40th St.
Since his arrest, Rodriguez has been held awaiting a detention hearing. This hearing is scheduled at the courthouse located at 2600 S. California today, December 20. As is common in ongoing investigations, the police have not released additional information regarding the circumstances of the murder or the evidence leading to Rodriguez's arrest.
