Chicago man, 28, was slapped with felony charges after a Great Lakes Fugitive Task Force had him in cuffs. Joseph Blanks found himself on the wrong side of the law, now facing a duo of serious accusations involving a firearm and domestic violence following his arrest on the South Side, the Chicago Police Department reported.
According to the Chicago P.D., Blanks was nabbed in the 7900 block of S. Rhodes Ave. He's fingered as the shooter in an episode where a 42-year-old man caught a bullet and was left seriously wounded. The alleged incident took place back on October 14th on North Talman Ave. For this, Blanks faces one count of aggravated battery with a firearm and an additional count of aggravated domestic battery.
A statement from the Chicago Police reveals the suspect was placed into custody and charged accordingly.
What's on the books for Blanks is a detention hearing, set to take place at 555 W. Harrison today. Meanwhile, the wounded man's condition and the broader circumstances of the shooting remain under wraps.
