The Chicago Police Department is urgently requesting the public’s assistance in a hit-and-run case that left a pedestrian critically injured. According to a community alert issued by the authorities, the incident occurred on December 20, 2023, at approximately 1:07 A.M. when a person was hit by a vehicle shortly after exiting the CTA Irving Park Blue Line train station.
The victim, whose identity has yet to be released, was traversing Irving Park Road just below the overpass of US Interstate 90/94 when the car struck; after the collision, the driver did not stop, rather accelerated eastbound on Irving Park Road towards Pulaski Road and vanished from the scene without a trace.
The Chicago police have been scouring the area for surveillance footage, witnesses, and any other pertinent information that could help them locate the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run. However, details about the make or model of the car have not been disclosed at this time and the search for the driver continues.
