A North Side Chicago woman, facing a slew of charges in connection with a series of armed robberies, was apprehended by law enforcement this week. Maisha Rowe, 35, who resides on the 4100 block of North Ravenswood Avenue, has been linked to several thefts targeting a Lakeview neighborhood retail outlet, according to Chicago police statements.
The arrest took place in the 2700 block of South California Avenue after police singled out Rowe as the main suspect in the harrowing, gun-related robberies along the 2400 block of North Clark Street. These crimes occurred on October 30, twice on the fateful day of October 31, and once more on November 16, as detailed in a Chicago Tribune report. During the heists, Rowe allegedly intimated that she was armed as she secured property and swiftly fled each scene of turmoil.
Law enforcement has since confirmed charging Rowe with four felony counts of robbery and aggravated robbery with a firearm. These charges hinge on her implication that firearm possession was used to instill fear and maintain control during the robberies. This information comes ahead of her detention hearing, which is set for Wednesday, where the court will deliberate further on her custody status.
In another report by FOX 32 Chicago, Rowe's apprehension and the charges against her were confirmed, magnifying the weight of the allegations she now faces as the legal process unfolds.
