A grim scene unfolded in Dedham, Massachusetts, where a family dispute turned lethal, leaving two women with stab wounds and a related man dead after an encounter with police. The incident triggered a 911 call around 6 p.m. Wednesday at a residence on Jackson Pond Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered the injured woman and the man in a state of turmoil, according to NBC Boston.
The Norfolk County District Attorney's Office said that the unresponsive man was later taken into police custody, where they employed a taser and pepper spray in their efforts to detain him. "He appeared to be in distress when the neighbors started calling Dedham 911. When the police arrived, they saw the same individual, and they tried to take him into custody using a variety of methods, as we said to you, and they noticed that he was in distress, rendered medical assistance, and immediately transported him, and when he got to the hospital, he was pronounced dead," District Attorney Michael Morrissey told NBC Boston.
The conditions of the two women, who were swiftly transported to the hospital, remain undisclosed. What led to the man's death after the intense altercation with the law enforcement officials is yet to be clarified, pending an autopsy by the medical examiner.
While the investigation continues in the Dedham neighborhood, the identities of the individuals involved have not been released.
