Law enforcement officers of the Youth Violence Strike Force took into custody 22-year-old Shawn Walker in Roxbury, racking up firearm-related charges. According to the Boston Police Department, Walker, from Dedham, was arrested on Monday after officers executed a search warrant.
A report released Tuesday revealed the details of the Monday afternoon bust, where law enforcement, carrying out an investigation that had been ongoing, Walker was located in an apartment at 50 Clifford Street. Suspected of hiding in the apartment, he was caught and held until a search warrant could lead officers to freeze the scene.
The search of the premises led to significant findings. Authorities uncovered two firearms: a Smith & Wesson M&P with a bullet in the chamber and nine more in the magazine, plus a Glock which, when seized, nestled a single round in the chamber and seven more in its magazine. Alongside the weapons, officers found three loose bullets and four baggies containing a substance believed to be crack cocaine.
Nabbed on multiple warrants, Walker faces charges stemming from two separate districts. The Boston Police Department's statement itemized the allegations, including "Assault by means of a dangerous weapon to wit gun," from Roxbury District Court, and "unlawful possession of a firearm," from Dedham District Court. Scheduled to appear in front of Roxbury District Court.
