
A man has been apprehended following a dangerous outbreak of gunfire yesterday, during a suspected road-rage incident on I-95 in St. Lucie County, local authorities reported. The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office confirmed the arrest of a 31-year-old driver of a white Ford pickup, who is accused of discharging multiple rounds at another vehicle. The altercation escalated just south of Midway Road at approximately 7 p.m., according to WPTV.
“At this time, our initial investigation suggests that the suspect in this case may have been involved in a minor traffic accident with the victim’s vehicle, which appears to have escalated into road rage,” said Sheriff Keith Pearson, during an interview obtained by CBS12. This violent display occurred just departed from the scene, firing the rounds as the driver fled northbound on the busy interstate.
The suspect was quickly detained by St. Lucie County deputies in cooperation with Florida Highway Patrol troopers. He is now facing serious charges as the investigation continues to unfold.
