Holiday cheer took a back seat for one driver this season as overindulgence led to a crash and subsequent arrest for driving while intoxicated. The incident unfolded in the 29000 block of Northwest Freeway where deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office rushed to the scene on December 22, following reports of a vehicle incident.
The driver, named Whitney White, showed clear signs of intoxication when officials arrived, her condition prompting a swift response from the deputies at the scene, they administered a series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which confirmed the suspicions: White was indeed under the influence. Further probing revealed a startling blood alcohol content of 0.296, a level that eclipsed the legal limit by more than threefold.
In the wake of her failed field tests, Whitney White faced the consequences of her actions, "Whitney White was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Driving While Intoxicated," according to a statement issued by Constable Mark Herman's Office and made available to the public via their official Facebook page. With the courts yet to determine her bond and court date, White awaits the next steps in a process that takes a hard stand against such grievous disregard for traffic safety and law.
