The news first broke out on social media, with the looming shutdown stirring conversations among local groups. According to a statement obtained by Brighton Main Streets, "The owners are still actively looking for a smaller space and hope for it to be in our Community." The Brighton outlet of Athan's Bakery & Cafe first opened approximately 15 years ago.
Lakon Paris Patisserie is slated to fill the void left by Athan's at 407 Washington Street.
