A routine traffic stop in Fairfield turned into an arrest after a police officer spotted a handgun in plain view inside a vehicle. The apprehension took place on December 19 when Officer Swoyer, patrolling a traffic safety detail, decided to conduct a traffic stop that led to the startling discovery.

Further investigation by the Fairfield PD allowed them to hastily uncover a total of three loaded firearms concealed within the vehicle. According to a statement by the department, these handguns were found on the front passenger floorboard, atop the front passenger seat, and in the center console. It was later revealed that one of the weapons had been reported stolen.

The driver, identified as 26-year-old Ashley Brulez of Fairfield, faced immediate arrest following the discovery. She has since been transported and booked into the Solano County Jail facing multiple charges related to the weapons found in her possession.

Details concerning the arrest were released in a press statement by the Fairfield Police Department and corroborated by further coverage from CBS News Sacramento. The case against Brulez is still to fully unravel as the authorities continue to process and investigate the incident.
