According to CBS News Minnesota, the event held at 525 Railroad Drive serves chicken, turkey, and ham alongside a variety of sides from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For those unable to attend, a simple call to Roger, Irene, or Mike can arrange rides or meal deliveries, illustrating the community's commitment to inclusivity. Last year's dinner saw over a thousand meals served, reinforcing the importance of the tradition for locals.
Meanwhile, some 800 miles west, the Dillon Elks Lodge echoes a similar sentiment of giving back. Gerald Penn, a trustee at the local Elks Club and president of the Montana Elks Association, underscored this during an interview with the Dillon Tribune "It's the right thing to do, giving back to the community." Diners at the Elks Lodge #1554 can fill their plates from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a hearty selection of traditional fare, all made possible by donations and volunteer efforts from those who put service above self even on their day off.
