A Fort Lauderdale community has been shaken by the shooting death of a 22-year-old pregnant mother, Shambre Boyd, who was ambushed and killed in front of an apartment building. Fort Lauderdale Police are on the hunt for the gunman responsible for taking the life of the young mother of four, who was also carrying her fifth child, a daughter she would never get to meet. The tragic incident occurred on December 18 at Northwest 14th Avenue, as reported by WSVN.
Heartache poured from the victim's family, who described the harrowing loss, with Boyd's sister, Tatiana Boyd, saying, "I’m now left without a sister who cares about me and checks on me, and I can’t see her no more," per WSVN interview. Boyd, who was remembered for her love of her children and her infectious smile, was reportedly sitting in her boyfriend's car at the time she was shot. Police have yet to determine a motive for the senseless violence.
Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the apprehension of the individual behind Boyd's murder. The shooting happened at around 11:20 p.m. and has left a void in the hearts of Boyd's relatives. "Y’all left her four kids without a mom, y’all left my sister without a daughter and I’m here left without a niece," Tangunika Boyd, the victim's aunt, told Local 10 News.
