A Framingham man, already awaiting trial for a separate armed robbery, has been accused of robbing two hearing-impaired people at a Burger King in South Boston, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office. District Attorney Kevin Hayden tagged the crime as "reprehensible," vowing to hold the assailants accountable. The suspect, 19-year-old Christopher Jimenez-Nunez, was slapped with charges of armed robbery and assault and battery on Wednesday.

Jimenez-Nunez's past includes a previous arraignment for armed robbery (firearm) and assault with a dangerous weapon from an incident in October. Alarmed at his latest alleged involvement in crime, Assistant District Attorney Christian Pasciak sought revocation of his bail. But, Judge John McDonald Jr ordered that Jimenez-Nunez, instead of being detained, wander the streets again, released on personal recognizance with a mandate to undergo GPS monitoring and home confinement, save for work-related departures, as reported by the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office. His next court date is January 9, 2024.

The brazen assault took place on the evening of November 16 when the suspect, together with another man, Chance Morgan, who remains at large, accosted the victims after exiting the Burger King. Using an American Sign Language interpreter to communicate with officials, the victims detailed their terrifying ordeal. They described how one assailant, Jimenez-Nunez, threatened them with a knife and forcibly took items from them, while Morgan allegedly added a gun into the mix, escalating the terror. The disturbing encounter resulted in one of the victims suffering a stroke from the fear invoked by the attack.

Following the incident, identification of Jimenez-Nunez was made possible by the victims through a photo array. However, his cohort, Morgan, has dodged capture and is yet to be brought to answer the heinous charges. "The fear and harm these assailants inflicted upon these victims is reprehensible. We will hold them accountable," Hayden said, firmly stating that Jimenez-Numez poses a clear and present daner to the public, according to the press release from his office. Hundreds of cases, over 20,000 annually, are processed by the office, staffed by more than 160 attorneys who serve the communities within Suffolk County, including Boston, Chelsea, Revere, and Winthrop.

In light of the charged offenses, it is important to note that all accused individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office stresses its commitment to due process and the support of victims through the criminal justice system.
