A three-time armed robber from Frisco, Texas, has been handed a stiff 35-year sentence for his crime spree across local cell phone stores. Allieu Bayoh, 27, saw his fate sealed by a jury after a guilty plea to Aggravated Robbery. "This guy committed armed robbery not once, not twice, but three times; even switching cell phone providers didn’t help him escape the long arm of the law," Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis stated, praising both the Frisco Police and the jury's decision, per Collin County District Attorney's Office.
Bayoh's string of robberies began on November 26, 2021, when he robbed a Verizon store at gunpoint and fled in a stolen vehicle, but was nabbed the following day by Arlington Police, who found the stolen goods and arrested him. He managed to resist arrest at first, but the cops got the upper hand, and he was charged for the November 2021 robbery, then bonding out in March the next year. Not even two full months after gaining his temporary freedom, Bayoh was identified as the suspect in another armed robbery at the same Verizon store, and soon after, he hit an AT&T store, completing a trifecta of armed heists before being arrested once again.
The tenacity of Frisco officers, particularly Detective Kristopher Mendoza, was critical in tracking down Bayoh and linking him to both May 2022 offenses. Upon his arrest, evidence was clear—a loaded Glock handgun and electronics from the robbery were found, as per the detective's investigation.
Upon pleading guilty, Bayoh chose to trust his fate into the hands of a jury, which, after reviewing the weighty evidence of repeated armed robberies, handed down a 35-year sentence. The jury's decision reflects an unflinching message toward deterrence of such brazen criminal acts. Judge Paul Banner oversaw the case, with Assistant Criminal District Attorneys Luke Calhoun and Abbie Adkins leading the prosecution. They, supported by District Attorney Investigator Michael Coleman, were pivotal in securing the conviction that promises to keep Bayoh from endangering the lives of employees and customers of any other cell phone stores, or so the citizens of Frisco are assured.
