In an incident off the coast of Miami-Dade County, a quick action from a good Samaritan rescued two people. According to Local 10 News, two individuals were saved early Friday when their boat began to founder some three miles off the coast near Government Cut.
The vessel in peril, a 30-footer reported to be a cuddy cabin boat, was besieged by the relentless sea around 10:45 a.m. The Coast Guard relayed a distress call, informed by an alert good Samaritan, who first saw the pair in severe distress. These individuals had faced swells and were then transferred onto a Coast Guard ship with no injuries to lament.
NBC Miami captured footage showing the dire state of the sinking craft. The Coast Guard officials confirmed that the rescue was executed with exacting haste.
Post-rescue, the assistance continued as Sea Tow arrived, navigating both the rescued parties and their vessel back to the sanctity of Pelican Harbor Marina.
No other information was immediately known. This case is still under investigation.
