Gunfire shattered the pre-dawn silence in South Gate earlier today, leaving one man dead and the community reeling from yet another act of senseless violence. According to an alert from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, homicide detectives are vigorously investigating a shooting that occurred on the 5100 block of Wood Avenue, the grim scene discovered at approximately 4:04 a.m.
The male victim, unidentified, was quickly taken to a local hospital but sadly pronounced dead. The suspect or suspects are still unknown and on the loose, adding to the silence and rumors.
