A suspect led Harris County constables on a Christmas Eve chase before being nabbed for evading in a vehicle, authorities said. The pursuit initiated when a deputy with Constable Mark Herman's Office attempted to pull over a vehicle on W Sam Houston Tollway N, but the driver put the pedal to the metal, refusing to stop.
In hot pursuit, the deputies managed to bring the brief chase to an end, stopping the getaway car and apprehending the driver. Identified as Zhongru Ye, the suspect was subsequently arrested, according to a recent Facebook post by Constable Mark Herman's Office.
Following the pursuit, Constable Herman reported, "Zhongru Ye was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle." His bond was set at $5,000.00, handed down from the 338th District Court.
Details on what led to the attempted traffic stop or what charges may have prompted Ye to flee remain undisclosed.
