A Houston mother was tragically shot to death early Friday morning, and her three children were left injured in what authorities believe stemmed from a domestic dispute. The brutal incident took place in the 5100 block of Enyart Street around 1:30 a.m. Local police responded to a chilling scene of a mother dead from gunshot wounds and her three young children showing signs of blunt trauma.
According to FOX26 Houston, two girls, apparently injured, were found in the street. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers were confronted by a man on top of a rooftop and shortly after discovered the children. One of the girls, believed to be between 8 and 10 years old, informed the police that their father was responsible for their mother's shooting. Inside the home, another boy also exhibiting signs of trauma was located by the police.
The search of the home led to the grim discovery of the young boy and an intense investigation. The man suspected of the horrid acts was taken into custody and is undergoing questioning. "Authorities say it is possible the tragic incident stemmed from a domestic situation," FOX26 Houston reported.
Assistant Chief M. Martin shared with KPRC 2 that there had been a previous domestic disturbance call to the same home. Neighbors claimed to have heard arguments from the house over the past few weeks, indicating ongoing tensions. Following the incident, a neighbor recounted to KPRC 2, "I heard the gunshots." The children were taken to the hospital, their conditions yet to be publicly shared, while the community reckons with the violence that has shattered a family.
