A teen gunman has been cuffed and charged in connection with a deadly shooting that claimed the life of another young man outside a Houston apartment complex yesterday. The unnamed 16-year-old suspect is facing charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after the lifeless body of 18-year-old Jeffry Martinez Menjivar was discovered, authorities announced. Found behind the wheel of a car parked at 832 West Greens Road late on the night of November 12, Menjivar was unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds, as press release by Houston Police Department.
According to the press release by the Houston Police Department (HPD), the juvenile was apprehended last Tuesday and told the investigators about his involvement in the grim affair the following Wednesday.
Working the case, HPD Homicide Division Detectives W. Huff and J. Nguyen noted in their report that the promising future of Menjivar was cut brutally short and shot unresponsively sitting after patrol officers responded to a distress call. The Houston Fire Department paramedics rushed him to HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest, where Menjivar's struggle ended with the silence of death's final verdict.
