Houston Police Search for Suspect Charged in Triple Shooting at Emancipation Avenue BusinessSource: Houston Police Department

Houston authorities are on the hunt for 47-year-old Larice E. Evans, who has been slapped with charges for a violent shooting back in September that left three injured. The rampage took place at a business located at 4709 Emancipation Avenue, at the late hour of almost midnight, according to the Houston Police Department.

The charges against Evans include three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and an additional count of aggravated assault against a public servant. Although charges were issued on November 25, the fugitive has managed to dodge law enforcement and remains at large. A 2023 booking photo of Evans accompanies a news release concerning the incident.

Detectives on the case, A. Garcia and P. Ungaro from HPD's Major Assaults & Family Violence Division, detailed that officers raced to the scene after a panic alarm activation and discovered two victims with gunshot wounds. The Houston Fire Department paramedics hustled both individuals to area hospitals. One was listed in critical condition but has since stabilized, and the other was already stable upon their arrival at medical facilities.

Another victim had made it to a hospital independently after also suffering from a gunshot wound connected to the address in question. In a chaotic turn of events, it came to light that Evans had also discharged his firearm at an Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy, who was moonlighting at the business. The shooter then fled the premises in a nondescript, dark-colored vehicle.

With the shooter on the run, authorities are urging the public to step forward with any information that could lead to Evans' capture. Houston police and Crime Stoppers are accepting tips, hopeful that community input can help close this violent chapter. Those with knowledge of Evans' location are encouraged to contact the HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division at 713-308-8800 or to deliver anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
