Houston cops are on the hunt for two individuals they believe might shed light on a fatal shooting that transpired at a West Greens Road apartment complex, leaving an 18-year-old dead in the driver's seat of his car. 21-year-old Josue Munguia and 17-year-old Alexis Ramos have been pegged as persons of interest by the Houston Police Department following the grim discovery made late on November 12, according to a City of Houston news report.
While neither Munguia nor Ramos have been formally accused of the crime, detectives are eager to piece together the events that led to the death of Jeffry Martinez Menjivar, who succumbed to a series of gunshot wounds after being transported to HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest. Visuals of the two sought-after individuals have been released in connection with the news release, as law enforcement pushes for anyone with knowledge of their whereabouts to come forward.
In an unsettling development, a 16-year-old male has been nabbed and charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection to Menjivar's death. Due to his juvenile status, his identity remains under wraps, as confirmed by HPD Homicide Division Detectives W. Huff and J. Nguyen. The minor was arrested on November 28 and, during interrogation, he confessed to his involvement in the tragic incident.
Investigators identified the juvenile as the perpetrator less than three weeks after the fatal shooting. With the case still unfolding, the authorities are now turning their focus to Munguia and Ramos. Any person with tips is urged to dial up the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
