It was a cold early morning in Jamaica Plain when a perp, later identified as Luis Luho, decided to up the ante in a threatening scenario. At approximately 3:50 a.m. on Friday, officers from Districts E-13 and B-3 responded to reports of this individual brandishing a firearm. According to the Boston Police Department, the suspect clearly was there to not only make a point but to forcibly intimidate a victim with a gun in hand.
About an hour later, the tables would turn. Dispatched officers managed to quickly locate Luho's vehicle parked at a bus stop near Blue Hill Avenue and Talbot Avenue—hardly the discreet getaway you'd expect from someone looking to quietly slip away. The suspect and an associate were caught exiting the vehicle, and with swift precision, officers moved in to handcuff both individuals firmly, ensuring not to accidentally escalate the tension further.
Digging deeper, the cops made a discovery that sealed Luho's fate. Tucked inside the motor vehicle lay a firearm. The possession of this ominous metal carried enough weight for immediate action—an arrest was made. Luho is now facing a slew of charges: Assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition. Brought before the bench, he's expected to present his case to the West Roxbury District Court.
