Three residents from Kirby were handcuffed and booked after a raid at a neighborhood home uncovered a hoard of illegal substances. Kirby Police Department, accompanied by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), executed a search warrant that unfolded into a sizable drug bust on December 20.
Per the details acquired by KSAT, the suspects: Jennifer Csombok, Troy Wood, and Charles Wood were linked to a home on the 400 Block of Edalyn Street, noteworthy due to its proximity to a local middle school. The raid, flagging a "substantial amount" of drugs, turned out about 243.68 grams of various narcotics including methamphetamines, heroin, cocaine, and marijuana, also booming with a trove of unclassified pills.
Kirby's Police Chief Rozanne Cardona took a stern stance in the wake of the incident, asserting to KSAT, "We came here to make a point. It’s not OK to sell methamphetamines, it’s not OK to sell cocaine. It’s still illegal. You can’t use or possess it. So, yeah, it’s a successful story today." Items seized in the search included more than 122 grams of methamphetamines, over 11 grams of heroin, plus cocaine and an assortment of pills – signaling a serious drug operation.
The Kirby Police found several trailers and vehicles sporting tampered Vehicle Identification Numbers, a likely indication of theft. These findings have resonated with Cardona's earlier resolve to tackle illegal activities in the area. A separate report by KENS 5 also confirmed the seizure, adding that the individuals face charges of possession of a controlled substance among other felony warrants including assault on a public servant, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
