
Early this morning, Los Angeles firefighters responded to a structure fire in Vermont Vista, as reported by the Los Angeles Fire Department. Heavy smoke was seen billowing from the second floor of a two-story garden-style apartment building located at 607 W Century Boulevard. Firefighting crews aggressively attacked the flames, working in offensive mode to contain the blaze.
According to a statement from the LAFD, the fire was reported at 7:15 a.m., with multiple units responding to the incident, including Fire Stations 64 and Battalions 11 and 13. The fire department dispatched firefighters who swiftly dealt with the fire, demonstrating their preparedness and efficiency in emergency situations.
In a rapid and focused effort, the fire was brought under control within 14 minutes. The Los Angeles Fire Department's post-event press release revealed that "32 firefighters extinguished the fire in 14 minutes with no injuries reported." Once the flames were quelled, the building was carefully updated to a two-story fourplex, and the damage was successfully limited to just one unit of origin.
Post-knockdown procedures included both primary and secondary searches of the premises by firefighters, who confirmed that there were no occupants in the building at the time of the incident with the fire contained.
