The Long Beach Department of Health & Human Services is calling on residents to contribute feedback in anticipation of the 2024 Celebration of the Young Child, an annual event devoted to early childhood development.
According to a Facebook post by the city, a community feedback survey has been launched and will remain open through March 1, 2024, gathering insights to tailor the celebration to best support kids from infancy to age eight. The event aims to provide resources, interactive learning experiences, and lots of fun to more than 1,000 families that attend with over 50 organizations set to contribute.
Hands-on activities, sensory engagement, and games suitable for young children are a staple of this communal event, ensuring that young children have the opportunity to learn and play in an environment designed for their growth. In addition to activities intended specifically for children, caregivers and family members also benefit from the event's lineup of live musical performances and drawings for prizes.
Next year's bash is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, promising to serve as a hub for Long Beach parents and their children to explore a multitude of educational opportunities and entertainment. The event also serves as a treasure trove of information for parents on how to keep their young ones healthy and on a successful developmental path, and families looking to participate or provide their invaluable feedback can find the survey online.
