The Los Angeles Metro has announced that it will open its doors fare-free to all passengers on the nights of Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Revelers and late-night travelers can enjoy complimentary trips on the Metro's bus and rail services as well as an overnight train operation to welcome the New Year.
The travel freebie begins at 9:00 p.m. on December 24th and, again on December 31st, running through to 2:00 a.m. the following mornings. Those opting for the on-demand shuttle service can use coupon codes “Merry23” on Christmas Eve and “Ring24” on New Year’s Eve for a free lift, according to the city's announcement.
For an entire week starting December 24th through January 1st, the first 30 minutes of each ride on the bikes will be on the house. Riders will just need to punch in the promo code 010124 when selecting "1-Ride" at any station kiosk, through the online platform, or via the app to get their free ride.
