A man was arrested Friday in connection with a Fort Worth shooting that cost another man his life last month, police have confirmed. The incident, which unfolded at a residence in the 2300 block of North Houston Street, left 46-year-old Julian Rey Torrez dead from a gunshot wound to the head. Police were called to the scene around 8:15 p.m. on Nov. 25 and discovered the victim in the backyard of the home, according to KURV.
Following an investigation that suggested an altercation might have preceded the deadly act, 50-year-old Odell Thompson now faces a murder charge. Authorities stated that Thompson had fled before their arrival but now remains in custody at the Tarrant County jail. Thompson is being held in lieu of $175,000 bail as of Sunday.
