A man was left dead on El Cajon Boulevard as San Diego Police are hunting for a suspect following a shooting in the Colina Del Sol neighborhood Wednesday night. According to an official release issued by the San Diego Police Department, two officers on patrol witnessed the incident around 7:45 p.m., wherein the victim, described as a Black male possibly in his 20s or 30s, was gunned down by an assailant firing from a dark-colored SUV before it fled the scene.
The statement obtained from the San Diego Police Department recounted first responders' efforts as they rushed to administer aid to the critically injured man, who was later pronounced dead at a local hospital after sustaining at least one gunshot wound to the upper torso, the identity of the victim remains undisclosed at the time. Officers acted quickly to alert additional units to search for the suspect vehicle that was last seen speeding away westbound on El Cajon Boulevard. However, its whereabouts are still unknown.
Preliminary evidence reveals the victim may have been embroiled in a confrontation with the occupants of the SUV leading up to the fatal shot.
