
A tragic incident unfolded in Northridge when a man was struck and killed by a train on Tuesday evening, authorities reported. The Los Angeles Fire Department stated the collision took place at approximately 6:05 p.m. in the 8900 block of North Corbin Avenue.
The LAFD revealed that a man, estimated to be around 50 years old, was fatally hit. Upon their arrival, firefighter paramedics found the man had already succumbed to his injuries, beyond the help of medical intervention. Despite the rapid response, there was nothing that could be done to alter the tragic outcome of the event.
The official LAFD alert noted, "Sadly, one man (approximately 50 years old) was fatally struck by a train." The Fire Department's effort swiftly transitioned to a matter of procedure rather than a rescue, with the site being secured and witnesses being questioned by authorities.
Following the fatality, the scene was handed over to the Los Angeles Police Department, under Incident #3768, and the Medical Examiner for further investigation and to determine the sequence of events that led to the man’s death. The area around the accident remained closed while the investigation was conducted, causing a temporary disturbance in the usual flow of the neighborhood's life.
