A confrontation turned violent at a Chicago train station late Saturday night, resulting in a man being shot after brandishing a knife. The incident occurred at around 10:43 p.m. at the CTA Red Line's Garfield station, situated in the 200 block of West Garfield Boulevard.
The argument escalated on the mezzanine level when a 40-year-old man pulled a knife. Following the heated exchange, he was shot in the right shoulder, as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times. The identity of the shooter has yet to be revealed to the public.
Emergency responders transported the injured man to the University of Chicago Medical Center. He was reportedly in fair condition, which the CBS News confirmed. As of now, investigators have not taken anyone into custody in connection with the shooting.
A witness told CBS, that during the dispute, another unaged male was involved with the victim. According to the narrative pieced together by authorities, the victim allegedly produced a knife amidst the squabble and consequently was shot by the other individual involved.
