A man was reportedly shot in the legs during a necklace sale that took a violent turn on the West Side of San Antonio Friday night. The incident happened shortly after 10 p.m. when the victim, attempting to sell his necklace, was confronted at the suspect's residence in the 100 block of Maple Valley.
Upon entering the home, the suspect allegedly brandished a firearm at the seller, making demands for the necklace, during which, police say, he shot the victim twice in the legs and appropriated the jewelry, as reported by FOX San Antonio. After the violent encounter, the wounded man managed to drive himself to the 7700 block of Faircrown Drive, which is where officials later found him and transported him to University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The San Antonio Police Department is actively searching for the shooter, whom they believe is acquainted with the victim and at the initial crime scene, they discovered the front door ajar with a bloody scene inside the residence, according to a statement provided by the SAPD to Fox Antonio News.
As the man recovers, investigators are piecing together the events that led up to the shooting.
