A shocking incident aboard an MBTA bus was thwarted when transit police intervened as a group of kids tried to attack a man with a Taser. The altercation took place at around 11:30 AM on Wednesday, December 13, and the swift response by law enforcement helped to prevent any serious injury to the victim.
According to the MBTA Transit Police's post on X, the response team was able to locate the juvenile wielding the Taser shortly after the attempted assault was reported, and the perpetrator was subsequently placed under arrest by the officers. In a turn of events, another member of the group, a juvenile as well, was recognized by a sharp-eyed TPD detective, wanted for an unrelated robbery, and was also apprehended.

The MBTA Transit Police have not released further details regarding the identities of the juveniles or the adult male target of the assault. It is standard procedure to withhold the names of minors involved in criminal incidents. The condition of the man who was targeted by the Taser has also not been made public.
These arrests come at a time when public concern over safety on public transit has been on the rise, and police presence in such areas has been a subject of discussion.
