A controversy has erupted at Pinecrest Cove Preparatory Academy in Southwest Miami-Dade after two boys allegedly used artificial intelligence to graft the faces of female classmates onto nude photos. According to CBS News Miami, about two dozen students were victimized by these AI-generated images. Gary Gilmore, facing the distress this situation has caused his daughter, expressed, "Even just my little girl alone, you know like much of the rest of the girls that are involved she's having a hard time dealing with."

Parents are in an uproar, demanding more severe consequences for the students responsible. The boys were handed a 10-day suspension, but as one parent, Vanessa Posso, told CBS News Miami, the impact on her daughter has been severe, saying, "She's been crying. She hasn't been eating. She's just been mentally unstable." While the identity of the boys has not been released, parents believe the punishment does not fit the violation of privacy their children have endured.

The deeply troubling act has left students feeling violated and unsafe. "It made me feel violated. It made me feel unsafe. Like I don't want to be in a school with boys who did that. I talk to them every day. I look them in the face and they acted like they didn't do anything," one victim told CBS News Miami. The incident has raised questions about the use and potential abuse of AI technology, particularly among youths who may not comprehend the full ramifications of their online actions.

Nadia Kahn-Roberts, whose daughter was one of the victims, is among those calling for the immediate expulsion of the offenders. "Our daughters do not feel comfortable returning to school with these boys in the same hallways," Kahn-Roberts said in a statement obtained by CBS News Miami. The school has reportedly contacted law enforcement, and the Florida Charter School Alliance confirmed that the situation is being investigated over Thanksgiving break. Miami-Dade police, working in conjunction with the State Attorney's Office, are considering potential criminal charges.

As the community awaits justice, the conversation has shifted toward preventative measures and education to avoid similar incidents in the future. One victim, preferring to stay anonymous, highlighted the need for increased awareness about technology, "I think more of these students should be educated about using these apps but in the right way and not the wrong way," she told NBC6. The investigation into this flagrant misuse of AI is ongoing, leaving the community hoping that digital ethics will become a cornerstone of the education system.
