In northwest Miami-Dade, the neighborhood has unearthed a trove of illicit goods, with the City of Miami Police seizing nearly $1 million worth of drugs, guns, and suspected stolen merchandise from a local home. The residence, nestled on the corner of Northwest 24th Avenue and Northwest 15th Street, was brimming with items, from drills to liquor.

According to CBS News Miami, the bust was part of an elaborate police investigation, with Miami Police serving a narcotics search warrant at the house on Wednesday. Brand new power tools and dozens of boxes stuffed with new goods were wheeled out by investigators. Police Chief Manny Morales detailed a substantial collection, including "hundreds of drills, impact windows, a large quantity of liquor and alcohol, even frozen foods". The arrested individual, whose name hasn't been released, is accused of operating an organized theft ring and trading stolen items for drugs in what appears to be a county-wide operation.

This elaborate setup, as NBC Miami reports, was sophisticated to the point of being likened to a retail store within a residence; shelves and separated rooms were designated for each type of merchandise. "This guy right here is absolutely a real-life Grinch," Morales said. The suspect is facing numerous charges, from armed drug trafficking to retail theft.

Morales noted that “This is an organized retail theft ring that impacted all of us by driving up prices,” The Miami Police Department is collaborating with retailers like Home Depot, TJ Maxx, and CVS Pharmacy to help identify and reclaim the stolen merchandise using the items' barcodes.
